About Safe Harbor Associates
Thomas Joseph O’Keefe believes in protecting your assets, getting you reasonable rates of return**, and keeping retirement planning simple and easy to understand. Tom’s motto is, don’t look back and only look forward.
Prior to Tom starting Safe Harbor Associates, he was a regional sales manager for CUNA Mutual Group. CUNA Mutual is the largest credit union insurance company.
Tom holds a Life and Health Insurance license. He has over 21 years of experience in the financial services and long-term care insurance planning business. Tom has represented many groups such as the American Medical Association, Navy Federal Credit Union, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, the American Bar Association, and State of Michigan employees. Additionally, he is actively involved in his local church, the Michigan State University Alumni Association, and the All About Animals charity.
Tom was born and raised in Michigan and has lived in Michigan his entire life. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1988, and is an avid Spartan fan. Tom married Mary, his high school sweetheart, in 1993. They’ve been happily married for 30 years. Together, they are the proud parents of two daughters, Elise and Christina, who also both graduated from Michigan State University.
He’s professional, methodical, caring, kind, organized, and eccentric.
Tom enjoys tennis, swimming, sailing, long walks with his dogs (he has two, Benny and Summer, a poodle/Shih Tzu mix and a golden retriever, respectively) and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Nicole is the office manager and client services coordinator of Safe Harbor Associates. She is responsible for office staff schedules, all new business, from the time of the sale until the delivery, and most importantly, tracking down the money to fund each account.
Before Safe Harbor, Nicole ran a heating and cooling equipment business. However, she joined us for a “change of scenery,” as well as the opportunity to help other people.
Nicole is strong, hard-working, honest, and kind. When not working, she loves spending time with her family: She’s married with two adult children and a dog, named Smalls.
Alana is in client services. She is responsible for managing the client database, taking care of inforce policy requests, and preparing the paperwork for client appointments with Tom.
Alana majored in psychology at Western Michigan University. She’s had multiple jobs in client services before. She enjoys creating systems to make work easier and more efficient.
Alana is dedicated, hard-working, friendly, and fun-loving. When not working, she loves reading, knitting, and making kissy faces at her adorable cat, Haddie.
